Airtable is a relational database wrapped in a spreadsheet interface. Tables, linked records and a dozen views — grid, kanban, calendar, gallery — let teams model structured work without touching SQL, and Interfaces turn those tables into simple internal apps. Automations and a solid API make it a common backbone for content calendars, CRMs and asset trackers.
It fits teams whose work is really a set of records with views over them. If you mostly need documents with a few tables inside, Notion is cheaper and better at prose; if you need a real production database, developers usually reach for something like Supabase instead.
